Where your donation goes

When you support the Reef Research Foundation, you’re investing directly in research, restoration, and the long-term health of Curaçao’s marine ecosystems. Your donation is not used for the operational costs of the Curaçao Sea Aquarium. The Foundation is an independent, non-profit entity—supported, facilitated, and topped up by the Sea Aquarium, but guided by its own mission and board. Every contribution helps us strengthen and expand the scientific and conservation work taking place here on the island. Donations fund critical projects such as coral restoration, the Queen Conch Hatchery, mangrove rehabilitation, field research, algae culture systems, equipment for wet and dry labs, student training, and the development of new conservation tools. They allow us to give researchers a sustainable platform to study Curaçao’s coastal ecosystems and to translate what we learn directly into action. Our goal is simple but powerful: to preserve, to learn, and to cherish—both the ocean life that surrounds us and the knowledge that protects it. Your support helps ensure that this work continues, grows, and shapes a healthier future for our seas.
